First-round auditions are by self tape via the 2027 HEAP Auditions Form. Sheet music, specified audition cuts, backing or practice tracks and the role-specific song extract are supplied after the form is submitted. Video auditions are due 19 September 2026; results are sent by 26 September at 23:59. Invited callbacks take place on 3, 4 and 8 October and may include further songs, scene reading, character or chemistry work and dance or movement. All roles are open unless stated otherwise; listed ages are playing-age guides, not performer-age limits, and the 2027 productions will use multiple casts. Elle requires a strong contemporary musical-theatre or pop belt, strong movement and an American accent at audition; Emmett requires a strong contemporary musical-theatre voice and an American accent. Rehearsals begin in February 2027; full-cast Sunday rehearsals begin in April, with selected Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings as needed. Performers must be available for the first three weeks of July 2027 at CREA Theater. HEAP assigns cast members to a show-support committee and expects cast members to help sell tickets; inability to pay the actor contribution does not affect casting.
