About the work
Een kleine Romeo en Julia is Liesbeth Coltof's youth-theatre adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy about Romeo and Juliet, two young lovers from feuding families. Premiered by Huis aan de Amstel in 1995, the adaptation condenses the families' conflict, the lovers' meeting and the fatal consequences of their forbidden love into a compact stage version.
