Die Gewehre der Frau Carrar is a one-act play by Bertolt Brecht from 1937, set during the Spanish Civil War. The fisherman's widow Teresa Carrar wants to keep herself and her sons out of the fighting, but is forced to reconsider her pacifist stance when the violence reaches her family directly. The play examines neutrality, resistance and the moral consequences of political oppression.
